There is another person who shares your garden animal. In this puzzle you can find out who they are. The cipher to this code is to use the first two letters of the your first name and the first two letters of your last name and put them together. This code is a common one in bird studies, where we commonly abbreviate American Crow to AMCR and Anna's Hummingbird to ANHU. My name in bird code is KASH. Your classroom teachers coded names are DECH and JOSC.
Got it?
Hints:
- You will have to know all the real (not nickname) first and last names of all of the 3rd graders in both classes to figure out this puzzle.
- If your code matches someone else, I use the first 3 letters of your first name to make a 5-letter code. For example, Mosquito and Cob-weaver in my family share the same 4-letter code, so I gave them both a 5-letter code, MALSH and MARSH.
- If it still matches, I also use the first 3 letters of your last name to make a 6-letter code.
- If you have 2 last names, I use the first initial from each last name. For example, California Scrub Jay has three names. It's code is CASJ.
- Teacher names are in red, garden parent names are in green, myself and my family's names are blue, Sara the chicken is in orange (yes, she picked her own paper from the bucket), and student names are not colored.
- Most partners are from the other 3rd grade class, but in a few cases, they are from the same class.
- Sorry, there a more animals than students, so not everyone has a partner.
- If for some reason, I missed your name, or if you think I made a mistake, or you tried and tried and tried but can't break the code, please contact me ASAP (that's a 4-letter code for As Soon As Possible).
Have fun!
